The Collections Manager will oversee the entire credit quality aspects of the Bank including monitoring the repayment progress and recovery initiatives for delinquent accounts, collections from the dead book.
Develop strategies that allow the Bank to meet annual risk appetite targets.
Pro-active actions to be taken monthly to ensure that the maximum number of clients pay their loan installments on time.
Identify and track the monthly volume and value of technical arrears, and resolve each client’s case so as not to repeat the next month.
Put a comprehensive plan in place to improve OBUL’s “Par1, Par 30, Par 60, Par 90, NPL’s, Arrears, percentages, etc.” to the industry best practice percentages (Each quarter OBUL’s ratios to improve as per milestones targeted.
Plan, develop and oversee the implementation of annual work plans and business plans, operational and credit systems and procedures in line with Bank of Uganda Regulations, bank policies and customer expectations.
Continually review the Collections policies and procedures, Credit work processes and work streams and drive appropriate corrective actions in order to deliver service in line with the Bank’s strategic plan, credit policies, BOU Regulations and corporate objectives.
Responsible for submitting Credit reports to stakeholders such as the Board, Central Bank, Executive Management, Internal and External Auditors and other stakeholders from time to time.
Provide overall leadership and supervision of Credit staff under direct supervision, responsible for staff performance management and development including implementation of the balanced score card system.
Identify risk factors and establish frameworks to mitigate risk in the Collections Unit bank wide in line with risk management dashboards and Bank policies.
Ensure compliance with Credit Operations, BOU regulations, budget parameters, internal policies and procedures and the risk management framework operational within the Bank.

Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Statistics and any business related degree.
Post graduate qualifications such as MBA, OR similar qualifications in credit related fields such as microfinance, SME Lending an added advantage.
At least 5 years in lending and 2 of which must be at supervisory level of a team of no less than 3 staff.
Experience in credit administration and lending with a proven track record of developing systems and procedures that support the Credit Function.
