Child protection is another critical area of focus for Plan International. The organization implements programs to prevent violence, abuse, and exploitation of children. The organization provides vocational training, supports small businesses, and promotes savings and loans groups to help families generate income and improve their livelihoods. By enhancing economic opportunities, Plan International helps to break the cycle of poverty and improve the quality of life for children and their communities.
In times of disaster and conflict, Plan International responds with emergency relief efforts, providing essential supplies, medical care, and psychosocial support to affected populations. Their disaster risk reduction programs also help communities build resilience and prepare for future emergencies.
Plan International places a strong emphasis on advocacy and campaigning to influence policy changes and mobilize support for children's rights and gender equality. The organization's "Because I am a Girl" campaign is a notable example, raising awareness and driving action to address the unique challenges faced by girls around the world.
