Job Description
The successful candidate will be responsible for greeting customers, operating the cash register and point-of-sale systems, processing payments, issuing receipts or change, and addressing customer inquiries. The cashier will also be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of the checkout area and ensuring accuracy in cash drawer balancing.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Greet customers as they arrive and leave the cafe
Operate cash registers and scanners efficiently
Process cash, credit, and debit card transactions accurately
Issue receipts, change, or refunds as needed
Answer customer inquiries and provide prompt assistance
Maintain a clean and organized checkout space
Count and balance the cash drawer at the beginning and end of each shift
Follow all cash handling and security protocols

Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree preferred
Previous experience in cashiering or customer service is an advantage
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work on feet for extended periods
Must be available to work weekends and holidays
Strong attention to detail and a positive attitude
