Job Description

Job Title:   Business Developer

Organisation: Lapaire

Duty Station: Kampala, Uganda

Salary: UGX 1,500,000/=

The Business Developer is responsible for identifying and developing new commercial/business opportunities in order to increase Lapaire’s reputation and commercial development in its market. He/she reports directly to the Operations Manager.

Duties, Roles and Responsibilities

His/her mission consists in :

Prospecting and acquiring new customers

  • Identify and contact new prospects (B2B) throughout the territory.

  • Developing and maintaining a customer/partner portfolio

  • Negotiating and concluding partnerships


Develop branch traffic and sales

  • Participate in the implementation of commercial growth strategies

  • Work with Area Managers to maximise sales

  • Actively contribute to Lapaire’s reputation with target audiences/organisations


Performance monitoring and reporting

  • Monitor performance indicators and ensure regular reporting

  • Analyse results and propose corrective actions

  • Ensure partner satisfaction and loyalty

Qualifications, Education and Competencies

  • Degree in management, business, marketing or equivalent

  • Successful experience in business development and prospecting

  • Excellent negotiation, communication and customer relations skills

  • Entrepreneurial spirit, autonomy and ability to make proposals

  • Strong results orientation and adaptability

  • The personal qualities needed to succeed in this role:

  • Proactive: you are always moving forward and don’t stop at the first hurdle. You know how to find solutions on your own to move forward.

  • Good communicator: you have good interpersonal skills and are at ease with all types of people.

  • Good negotiator: you enjoy prospecting, negotiate and develop customer relations

  • Organised: you know how to prioritise and take initiatives to reach your objectives

  • Highly motivated and dynamic: you always want to exceed your targets and work hard to do so

  • Team spirit: You want to contribute to the growth of a group and to the sharing of knowledge and experience.

 

Compensation:

  • Base salary (gross) : 1.5M UGX

  • Monthly performance bonus (gross) : 800K UGX

  • Transportation allowance (monthly) : Safeboda wallet (150,000 UGX)

  • Telecommunications allowance (monthly) : 100,000 UGX
