Job Description
The Business Coach will work closely with Kula’s Program Staff and Impact Director to enhance the organization’s mission by providing one-on-one and group coaching to selected farming households. This role includes managing program relationships, conducting assessments, facilitating trainings, supporting business planning, and collecting data. The coach will play a key role in helping farmers build viable businesses that contribute to long-term financial independence and community development.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Manage communication and support with 30–50 households throughout the fellowship
Conduct baseline assessments and farmer selection
Build strong relationships with program fellows and provide continuous support
Coordinate and deliver monthly training sessions tailored to individual contexts
Provide one-on-one and group business coaching
Collaborate with farmers to develop actionable business plans and KPIs
Offer financial guidance including budgeting and forecasting
Assist farmers with market research and business strategy
Support business operations improvement and workflow optimization
Complete surveys and evaluation reports
Stay updated on best practices in community and business development
Contribute feedback on program improvements
Maintain financial accountability and submit receipts to Operations Manager
Translate and share significant stories when required

Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Degree in Business, Economics, Entrepreneurship, or related field
Proven experience in business coaching or entrepreneurship training
Strong facilitation, coaching, and communication skills
Fluent in both Kinyarwanda and English
Effective in community engagement
Practical experience in local business practices (Ubushabitsi)
Skilled in using data collection tools such as KoboToolbox
Willingness to work in Kayonza District
