Job Description
The Verification Officer is responsible for assessing data accuracy on approved client loans and to ensure inaccurate elements are flagged and re-assessed for correction or amendment
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Key Roles and Responsibilities
To verify the authenticity of the following documents as well as the information contained therein by calling back the relevant customers to confirm the correct information.
Data entry and approval/ verification of key stages during the onboarding process in accordance with SLA
Ensure ALL sales are completed within recommended timelines and if not to communicate to the Front Office concerned for follow-up
Proactively identify trends that may affect the quality of submitted documents and ensure corrective action and escalation to the team leader is applied appropriately.
Actively perform fraud checks to limit the risk of fraudulent or inaccurate application processing.
Clearly define reasons for rejecting loans during verification
Liaise with team supervisors in case of issues affecting OBS
Work as a team to save time.
Conduct all activities in accordance with the company’s policies, processes, and code of conduct
Fulfill any reasonable tasks given or approved by management that is work-related and aimed towards the company’s goals and targets
Proactively recommend improvements and innovative ideas to increase business efficiency
Action all administrative duties as per the agreed process.

Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Minimum Qualifications.
At least a Bachelor’s Degree in any related field with a minimum of 2-3 years experience in a similar role
Must be analytical & pays great attention to detail
Results-driven and Customer service attitude — friendly, polite, good listener, uses initiative
Ability to deal with difficult clients or customers Self-motivated
Excellent organizational and Computer skills such as MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
Ability to meet deadlines and work well under pressure
Ability to work with minimum supervision
Ability to work well as an individual and a team player
Creative thinking and problem-solving abilities
Previous work experience in Telecom or microfinance institutions will be an added advantage.
