Job Description
Job Title: Assistant Engineer Manager

Duty Station: Kampala, Uganda
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Assistant Engineer Manager to join our team. This role is crucial in enhancing service quality, equipment reliability, and availability by optimizing workflows and maintenance processes using world-class asset management. The position focuses on Maintenance, Projects, Operational Safety, and People Management.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Oversee all plant maintenance operations to ensure machinery and facilities are serviced and operational according to international standards.
Drive and develop autonomous and preventive maintenance work streams using Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
Develop and implement the maintenance management manual, including standard operating procedures and workflows.
Conduct root cause analyses for equipment failures and ensure timely resolution.
Maintain overall equipment effectiveness (OEE) and achieve agreed OEE targets.
Ensure a safe working environment and compliance with Environment, Health & Safety regulations.
Prepare and submit management reports as required.
Plan OPEX projects within approved budgets and timelines.
Manage relationships and performance of third-party service providers.
Lead, manage, and develop a high-performing team.

Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or a related field from a recognized institution.
Registration with the Licensing Board of Engineering.
Minimum of 8 years of experience in facilities management, with at least 3 years in a management role in an FMCC environment.
Experience in implementing Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
