Job Description
Under the guidance of the Education Officer, the Assistant Education Officer will prepare schemes of work and lesson plans, deliver lessons, and conduct remedial teaching. The role includes assessment, record keeping, student guidance and counseling, participation in examinations, co-curricular and community activities, and fulfilling other responsibilities as assigned by the relevant authorities.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Prepare schemes of work and lesson plans in line with the approved curriculum
Conduct lessons and remedial sessions according to the school timetable
Set, administer, and mark internal and external examinations
Carry out continuous assessment and evaluation of student performance
Maintain class records and inventories
Provide guidance and counseling to students
Participate in class and staff meetings
Serve as classroom teacher and teacher on duty
Participate in co-curricular and community activities
Perform any other duties assigned by relevant authorities

Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Minimum Qualifications:
Diploma in Secondary Education from a recognized institution
Registered with the Ministry of Education and Sports
Must have at least two teaching subjects or double main subjects
Below 50 years of age for new entrants
Skills and Competencies:
Pedagogical and curriculum interpretation skills
Guidance and counseling abilities
Communication and interpersonal skills
Computer literacy
Record keeping
Life skills and environmental health awareness
Public relations skills
Support for learners with special needs
