Job Description
The Asset Care Team Leader will provide functional expertise and leadership in asset maintenance. The position involves overseeing shift asset care technicians, ensuring compliance with safety and quality regulations, leading continuous improvement initiatives, managing maintenance budgets, and ensuring optimal equipment availability. The role supports innovation and CapEx activities while applying root cause analysis and process improvement tools to solve operational challenges. The incumbent will also develop and coach a multi-disciplined team and actively contribute to Diageo’s performance goals.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Lead shift asset care teams and support maintenance technicians.
Drive innovation and capital expenditure (CapEx) projects.
Ensure adherence to safety, environmental, and quality standards.
Lead daily asset care review meetings and manage performance issues.
Promote continuous improvement through Lean, Six Sigma, and TPM tools.
Monitor maintenance KPIs, budgets, and resource planning.
Manage spare parts, work schedules, and equipment inspections.
Implement and lead MMS Asset Care practices and problem-solving methodologies (DMAIC, RCPS).
Conduct RCM activities and manage asset care budget effectively.
Perform audits, legislative compliance checks, and drive performance.
Engage in operational reviews and escalate issues as needed.
Carry out standby duties and project management as required.
Build team morale and manage people performance and development.

Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Required:
Trade qualification (Mechanical) or local equivalent
Minimum N6 or equivalent trade test
IBD Certificate in Spirits/Beer Packaging (or willingness to complete)
5+ years in FMCG (preferably bottling)
5+ years supervisory experience
Strong knowledge in asset care, maintenance management, and process improvement
Proficiency in SAP, MS Office, and other Diageo systems
Knowledge of Root Cause Problem Solving (RCPS), 5S, TPM
Financial acumen and project management skills
Experience in FSSC-accredited environments
Desirable:
Knowledge of environmental legislation and supply chain processes
Experience with Lean methodologies, ME, packaging, and process control
Strong people management and coaching abilities
