Job Description
The Airport Supervisor / Business Development Executive is responsible for managing daily airport operations while also driving commercial growth. Key duties include supervising ground activities, ensuring regulatory compliance, leading staff, resolving customer issues, and developing emergency response protocols. On the business development front, the role involves identifying market opportunities, managing client relationships, preparing financial reports, and engaging stakeholders like government authorities, vendors, and clients to enhance service offerings and profitability.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Commercial / Airport Management
Manage and supervise all ground activities for incoming and outgoing flights.
Coordinate passenger services, security, and maintenance for smooth operations.
Ensure adherence to aviation safety and regulatory requirements.
Supervise, train, and evaluate airport staff.
Develop and execute emergency response plans.
Resolve passenger complaints and ensure top-tier customer service.
Liaise with Civil Aviation Authorities for operational approvals.
Negotiate supplier rates and service agreements.
Align with HR policies and statutory safety requirements via strategic partners.
Business Development
Identify growth opportunities in African markets.
Generate and manage sales leads and opportunities.
Execute strategies to achieve revenue targets.
Conduct competitive market research.
Cultivate relationships with new and existing clients.
Monitor vendor performance and manage contracts.
External Stakeholder Engagement
Engage with Authorities, Vendors, and Business Partners.
Financial Accountabilities
Monitor purchasing and spending.
Submit financial reports.
Track collections and evaluate credit risks.

Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Educational Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Aviation Management, or a related field.
Experience
3–5 years in airport operations and business development.
Technical & Functional Competencies
Excellent communication and reporting skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Fluency in English and French (spoken and written).
In-depth knowledge of airport systems and operational processes.
