Job Description
The Agribusiness Project Officer will oversee day-to-day implementation of poultry, piggery, and solar irrigation activities. They will ensure strong stakeholder engagement, lead farmer training programs, monitor performance, and facilitate access to markets and finance. The officer will also manage budgets, reporting, and documentation in alignment with project goals and donor requirements.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Coordinate daily operations of poultry and piggery initiatives
Provide technical support and ensure best practices in animal husbandry
Develop and conduct training on disease management, feed production, and marketing
Collaborate with partners and stakeholders including farmers and local authorities
Collect and analyze data for Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E)
Develop market linkage strategies and facilitate value addition
Engage financial institutions for participant support
Manage budgets and track expenditures
Prepare and submit regular reports and maintain thorough project documentation

Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Animal Science, Agribusiness, or related field
2–5 years’ experience in poultry and/or piggery production, business development, and project management
Strong knowledge of poultry and piggery systems and value chain development
Experience with training, capacity building, and working with NGOs
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and data analysis
Excellent written and verbal communication and reporting skills
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in matrix teams
Familiarity with environmentally friendly agriculture practices
