Job Description
The Afrikaans FAL Teacher will be responsible for delivering high-quality lessons to FET Phase learners, ensuring learners achieve academic success while cultivating a love for the language. Responsibilities include lesson planning, assessments, participating in co-curricular activities, attending school meetings and forums, and supporting learners' holistic development. The teacher will also maintain discipline and collaborate with peers to foster an effective learning environment.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Plan, control, and report on academic assessments
Record and manage learners’ academic progress
Attend grade/phase workshops, meetings, and forums
Maintain a positive and engaging classroom atmosphere
Take responsibility for classroom stock and resources
Collaborate with grade/phase teachers to ensure smooth academic delivery
Promote and participate in school cultural and sports activities
Encourage discipline and maintain school standards within the phase
Support learners through administrative and sporting duties as needed
Commit to the school’s values and participate in its ethos and mission

Qualifications, Education and Competencies
A recognized academic and professional teaching qualification
Relevant experience teaching Afrikaans FAL at FET Phase level
Current registration with the South African Council for Educators (SACE)
Previous experience with IEB curriculum is an advantage
Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
A passion for education and student development
A clear criminal record
