Job Description
The Accountant will be tasked with preparing and recording asset, liability, revenue, and expense entries by compiling and analyzing account information. The role includes performing account reconciliations for both receivables and payables, processing payments, and assisting with the budgeting process. The Accountant will also manage invoicing to customers based on services rendered or goods sold and review employee expenses for reimbursement. Additional duties include tracking project-related expenses, validating invoices, entering key data into the accounting system, and preparing journals and balance sheet reconciliations. The Accountant will also file statutory returns, prepare management reports, and undertake audits as directed.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Reconcile receivables and payables
Process payments and follow proper procedures
Assist in the budgeting process
Reconcile invoices with departmental billings
Issue invoices to customers based on services rendered or goods sold
Review and reimburse employee expenses
Track project and job-related expenses
Validate invoices against items or services received
Enter data into the company’s accounting system
Accrue journal entries and perform ledger and balance sheet reconciliations
File statutory returns and ensure compliance
Prepare management reports
Conduct routine audits of site payroll data as directed

Qualifications, Education and Competencies
A Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field
Professional qualification such as CPA, CMA, or ACCA Level 2
A minimum of 3 years of working experience in a competitive business environment
Knowledge of best practice accounting and financial reporting
Strong conflict management and negotiation skills
Proficient in financial software and MS Office (particularly MS Excel with skills in V-lookups and pivot tables)
Excellent communication and presentation skills
Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail
Ability to follow instructions and procedures
Strong planning and organizing abilities
