Job Description
Job Title: Accountant
Organisation: Cavendish University Uganda (CUU)
Duty Station: Kampala, Uganda
Reports to: Chief Accountant
As a part of the Finance team, the position holder shall be responsible for preparation of various financial reports, perform reconciliations, profitability analysis as well as handling other projects as shall be assigned.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Monitor faculty and unit expenses ensuring expenditure control and compliance
Prepare monthly management, financial reports and cash flow reports
Perform full set of accounts and ensure timely closing and reporting
Perform cash flow forecasting, budgeting and work closely with the operations and Faculty Teams in analyzing margins, variances and cost analysis
Develop financial models and analyze financial data, analyze and provide actionable insights for decision making
Prepare faculty and other project costs, cost tracking, monitoring and reporting
Maintain an updated fixed assets ledger
Lead financial audit readiness and coordination

Qualifications, Education and Competencies
First degree in BCOM or BBA (Accounting option)
Professional qualification (ACCA or CPA)
Minimum of 4 years relevant experience in a busy commercial environment
Working experience in Pastel, and strong capabilities using Ms. Excel and PowerPoint
Team work, communication and interpersonal skill
