Job Description
Job Title: Driver (8 Jobs)

Duty Station: Kampala, Mbale City, Mbarara City, Fort Portal City, Gulu City, Uganda
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Provision of reliable and secure driving services by: driving Pathfinder/project vehicles for the transport of authorized personnel and delivery and collection of mail, documents and other items; and meeting official personnel and visitors at the airport, visa and customs formalities arrangement when required.
Ensures cost-savings through proper use of vehicle by accurate maintenance of daily vehicle logs, provision of inputs to preparation of vehicle maintenance plans and reports. Ensure that maintenance records are kept properly and used to inform supervisor of any vehicle needs on a timely basis.
Ensure safe operating status of the assigned vehicle through regularly inspecting fluid levels, timely servicing, check of tires, brakes, car washing, and overall condition of the vehicle.
Conduct weekly vehicle inspections and prepare reports for the supervisor, with appropriate recommendations.
Ensure availability of all the required documents/supplies including vehicle insurance, vehicle logs, office directory, map of the city/country, first aid kit, sanitizers and necessary spare parts.
Swiftly follow up accident reporting procedures in the event of project vehicle being involved in accidents.
Perform appropriate/ light preventive maintenance on the vehicle.
Report any mechanical breakdown through the channel
Ensure that the assigned vehicle is clean at all times (interior and exterior).
Ensure safety of the vehicle assigned to him, including identifying appropriate parking space, appropriate locking and safe custody of other materials/equipment left in the vehicle
Adhere to Pathfinder policies and procedures related to vehicle use.

Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Minimum Ordinary Level Certificate; A- Level Certificate is an added advantage.
Valid driver’s license with classes ‘A, B & DL’.
Certificate in Defensive Driving.
Minimum of four years’ driving experience preferably with NGOs.
Must specify your preferred location/district for the position during application.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, excellent Microsoft word and Microsoft excel skills.
