Job Description
We are seeking dynamic and resilient software engineers to build scalable and impactful solutions that power commerce around the world. You will be working with the largest Rails app globally and tackling complex engineering challenges in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
As a Software Engineer at Shopify, you will be responsible for crafting high-quality code that enhances the commerce experience for millions of users. You will develop and optimize the entire commerce stack, from building seamless buying experiences to innovating financial products and enhancing developer tools.
Shopify engineers work in a digital-first environment, embracing ambiguity and thriving amidst change. Our ideal candidate is passionate about making commerce better for everyone and embraces rapid development cycles, including shipping code at high speeds.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Develop scalable and maintainable software solutions to enhance commerce experiences.
Build and optimize the commerce stack, including buying experiences and financial tools.
Work with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality, production-ready code.
Participate in iterative development, testing, and deployment processes.
Address engineering challenges creatively and with a problem-solving mindset.
Engage with stakeholders and participate in collaborative decision-making.
Continuously improve existing systems and innovate new features.

Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Proven experience in software engineering, with a focus on scalability and performance.
Proficiency in Ruby on Rails and familiarity with large-scale application architecture.
