Job Description
The Senior Treasurer plays a crucial role in the effective management of the district's finances. This includes the preparation and monitoring of budgets, financial reporting, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations. The role requires diligent oversight of revenue collection processes and control of expenditures to maintain financial integrity. Additionally, the Senior Treasurer will be responsible for guiding the district leadership on financial matters and supervising subordinate finance staff to uphold accounting standards.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Prepare and manage district budgets.
Monitor budget implementation and report variances.
Prepare accurate financial reports and statements.
Present financial information to the district leadership.
Oversee revenue collection activities to maximize district income.Implement measures to control expenditure and manage public funds efficiently.
Ensure compliance with financial regulations and accounting standards.
Conduct internal audits to verify accuracy and completeness of records.
Supervise junior finance staff and provide guidance on accounting practices.
Facilitate training and capacity-building for financial management teams.
Advise the district leadership on financial matters, budget allocation, and investment strategies.
