Job Description
The Regional Director will be responsible for:
Leading and implementing a revised regional plan in alignment with organizational goals.
Driving change initiatives and promoting leadership within regional and country teams.
Ensuring program quality and continuous improvement.
Providing strategic oversight in program strategy, planning, budgeting, and monitoring.
Building and maintaining external partnerships to support business development and growth.
Managing financial planning and budget monitoring.
Overseeing knowledge management and sharing best practices.
Managing a high-performance team while fostering a collaborative and inclusive culture.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Develop and implement a regional plan with appropriate staffing and operational structures.
Lead change initiatives and promote distributed leadership.
Oversee program strategy, planning, budgeting, and monitoring, evaluation, assessment, and learning (MEAL).
Drive program quality and operational excellence.
Manage and mentor high-performance team members to enhance their responsibilities and performance.
Develop systems for consistent, high-quality project management.
Collaborate with Country Directors and program teams on project proposals and grant management.
Ensure program operations comply with organizational standards and safety measures.
Lead business development efforts including donor mapping and fundraising strategies.
Build partnerships with international organizations, governments, and stakeholders.
Coordinate grant payouts with the availability of funds.
Develop the department’s annual operating budget.
Monitor financial reports and address variances.
Develop systems for knowledge sharing and organizational learning.
Monitor program impact and integrate cross-program activities.
Promote knowledge sharing and support evidence-based strategy adjustments.
Perform other related duties as required and in line with skill levels and experience.

Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Master’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., humanities, social sciences, international development, public health).
At least 10 years of experience managing NGO operations and programs, including 8 years in developing countries.
Proven experience leading diverse, cross-cultural senior management teams.
Demonstrated success in strategic partnerships, resource mobilization, and high-quality program delivery.
Strong management, team-building, and leadership skills.
Experience working in multicultural environments.
Strong analytical, writing, and communication skills.
Willingness to travel up to 30%, including to remote locations.
