Job Description
The Procurement Manager will oversee Kijani Forestry’s entire supply chain, ensuring the seamless operation of procurement, logistics, inventory management, and supplier relationships. This role is critical to driving cost-effective sourcing, compliance with environmental regulations, and ensuring the scalability of the supply chain as Kijani expands.
The Procurement Manager will lead the procurement team, strategically source materials, negotiate contracts, and cultivate long-term supplier partnerships. They will monitor and analyze supply chain performance, address inefficiencies, and recommend improvements, all while ensuring sustainability and compliance with relevant regulations. Additionally, the role involves preparing detailed reports and providing data-driven insights to aid in strategic decision-making.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Develop and implement procurement and supply chain strategies to ensure smooth operations.
Oversee logistics, inventory, and distribution systems to minimize costs and prevent disruptions.
Monitor KPIs to assess performance, identify inefficiencies, and suggest improvements.
Address complex issues related to suppliers, logistics, and regulatory compliance promptly.
Identify and onboard reliable suppliers with cost-effective, high-quality agreements.
Conduct regular evaluations of supplier performance, addressing non-compliance or inefficiency.
Cultivate long-term partnerships with suppliers that align with Kijani’s operational and sustainability goals.
Conduct market research to identify new sourcing opportunities and stay updated on industry trends.
Lead contract negotiations, ensuring terms align with operational needs and compliance.
Optimize sourcing to achieve cost savings while maintaining high-quality standards.
Lead the supply chain team, mentoring members and fostering accountability.
Collaborate with internal teams, including planting, field operations, and finance, to align activities with organizational priorities.
Ensure supply chain activities comply with environmental and regulatory standards.
Advocate for sustainable practices in procurement, sourcing, and logistics.
Prepare comprehensive reports on supply chain performance, cost efficiencies, and sourcing activities.
Use data-driven insights to enhance processes and support strategic decision-making.

Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field (Master’s degree preferred).
Professional certifications in supply chain or procurement are a plus.
At least 5 years of experience in supply chain management, procurement, or sourcing, ideally within forestry, agriculture, or manufacturing sectors.
Proven success in supplier management, contract negotiations, and logistics optimization.
Proficiency with supply chain software and tools.
Familiarity with sustainability practices and regulatory compliance in supply chain operations.
Ability to develop and execute long-term strategies aligned with business goals.
Strong analytical skills to address challenges and implement data-driven solutions.
Expertise in securing favorable supplier agreements and cost-effective procurement.
Precision in managing logistics, inventory, and procurement processes.
Strong leadership skills to inspire teams and foster collaboration.
Ability to manage dynamic environments and changing priorities.
