The Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Uganda (ICPAU), established in 1992 by an Act of Parliament, serves as the national professional accountancy body with the mission to develop and regulate accountants for professional excellence and sustainable impact. Over the years, ICPAU has earned recognition for its role in enhancing the accountancy profession in Uganda, currently boasting a membership of over 3,000 professionals.

Its innovative business model focuses on regulating and maintaining accountancy standards, prescribing and regulating the conduct of accountants, and offering qualifications such as the Certified Public Accountants of Uganda (CPA), Certified Tax Advisor (CTA), and Accounting Technicians Diploma (ATD).
Guided by a commitment to corporate social responsibility, ICPAU engages in initiatives aimed at enhancing the public sector's financial management capacity, including annual training on International Public Sector Accounting Standards (IPSAS).
