The French Ambassador is the representative of the French government to the Ugandan authorities.

Directly placed under the authority of the Ambassador, the diplomatic chancellery's main missions are:
monitoring and analysis of Uganda's foreign and domestic policy files in order to inform the French authorities
the development of bilateral relations between the two countries, in particular by participating in the organization of official visits
information, defense and promotion of France's positions with the Ugandan authorities
To carry out these missions, chancellery agents maintain contacts with all stakeholders in society (political and administrative officials, media, academics, religious authorities, etc.).

The political chancellery works in close collaboration with all of the Embassy's services (consular, economic, cultural, military, police, etc.), for which it ensures coordination.
